Today’s Featured Scripture: 2 Samuel 2:1-3; 2 Samuel 5:18-20; 2 Samuel 5:22-25
2 Samuel 2:1-3
“After this, David asked the LORD, Should I move back to one of the towns in Judah? Yes, the Lord replied. Then David asked, Which town should I go to? To Hebron, the LORD answered. David’s two wives were Ahinoam from Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal form Carmel. So David and his wives and his men and their families all moved to Judah, and they settled in the villages near Hebron.”
2 Samuel 5:18-20
“The Philistines arrived and spread out across the valley of Rephaim. So David asked the LORD, Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me? The LORD replied to David, Yes, go ahead. I will certainly hand them over to you. So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. The LORD did it! David exclaimed. He burst through my enemies like a raging flood! So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means the LORD bursts through).”
2 Samuel 5:22-25
“But after a while the Philistines returned and again spread out across the valley of Rephaim. And again David asked the LORD what to do. Do not attack them straight on, the LORD replied. Instead, circle around behind and attack them near the poplar trees. When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the poplar trees, be on the alert! That will be the signal that the LORD is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army. So David did what the LORD commanded, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.”
Good morning and happy blessed Wednesday WBFWE Family. Today is truly the day that the LORD hath made. Join me in rejoicing and being exceedingly glad it in. I’m grateful and blessed for another day and I pray you are also. I’m praying that you and your family are well. If you are believing Yahweh for something in your life, I am touching and agreeing with you and that what you are believing is in alignment with HIS perfect will for your life and what He wants for you. In Jesus name. Amen… SEALED!
The three scriptures today all have the same message… Ask LORD God! Ask LORD God for direction. Ask LORD God where you should go. Ask LORD God what He wants you to do. Ask LORD God how you should do it. ASK ASK ASK. Don’t move before Him. Don’t make a move without HIM. Don’t make a decision without HIM.
If you know the story of David you know that David was not perfect, but he was known as a man after God’s own heart. David was a KING and yet still asked God for direction. David could’ve asked the people around him what they thought and what he should do. But David was wise enough and smart enough to seek wise godly counsel/advice/direction from the ONE who has guided him, blessed him, called him, and protected him from the beginning. David could’ve made His own decision when it came to where he wanted to live. David could’ve let his ego and pride get in the way when the Philistines came to his front door looking for a fight and made the decision on his own to go to battle. The decisions David had to make affected his wives, children, and the men and their families that followed him and fought for him. David’s amazing strong relationship with LORD God was the reason he ASKED where should I go… what should I do!
But there is more than just asking Yahweh for direction. We have to WAIT for an answer… LISTEN for a RESPONSE… and more importantly DO WHAT HE TELLS US TO DO. David asked the questions/sought guidance… David listened and didn’t move without a response… and David did according to what he was told. Our Heavenly Father is specific and exact and if we don’t follow through as exactly instructed the results will not be favorable for us. Look at David in 2 Samuel 5:22-25. David asked for guidance and the LORD gave him a very specific detailed response. If David had missed one detail or moved before God’s timing then the results would’ve not been what The Father planned.
We don’t need to be a KING like David to get Yahweh to answer us. We just need a relationship that is REAL and STRONG!!! If we are wanting God’s direction in our lives, we have to ASK… LISTEN and WAIT for Him to RESPOND… and DO IT. Going ahead of Him or without Him has the propensity to adversely affect/change your life and the lives of others!
